These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the CYFM (Christian Youth & Family Ministry) website, including templates, guides, and related resources (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

Who we are and what this site is for

CYFM publishes practical resources for adults supporting youth and families (leaders, volunteers, and parents). Content is provided for educational and ministry-support purposes. This Site is intended for adults, not children.

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Permissions to use templates and content

Unless otherwise stated, CYFM grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use the Site for your personal, church, or ministry use. The intent is “use it in real life,” not “lock it behind a paywall.”

You may

  • Copy and adapt: paste templates into your own docs, emails, and internal training materials.
  • Print: distribute printouts to your volunteer team or parents inside your ministry context.
  • Share internally: send resources to leaders and volunteers connected to your organization.

You may not

  • Resell: sell CYFM templates or pages “as-is,” or bundle them as your own paid product.
  • Republish wholesale: repost entire pages or tool packs as your own public content library.
  • Remove safety context: delete safeguarding/boundary notes in a way that increases risk or misleads families.
  • Misrepresent: imply CYFM endorses your organization, event, or product without written permission.

Suggested attribution: “Adapted from CYFM (Christian Youth & Family Ministry).” For broader reuse requests (curriculum, conferences, or publishing), contact us via Contact. We want tools to travel responsibly.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site or interfere with its normal operation. Use the Site in ways that help people, not harm them.

  • No abuse: do not harass, threaten, defame, or target individuals or groups.
  • No unlawful use: do not use the Site in connection with illegal activity.
  • No scraping at scale: do not scrape or download the Site’s content at a scale that harms performance or violates reasonable access limits.
  • No security bypass: do not attempt to gain unauthorized access or disrupt the Site.

Disclaimers and limits

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” CYFM does not guarantee that templates or guidance will fit every context. You are responsible for adapting resources to your organization’s policies and requirements. Discernment and local accountability are not optional.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CYFM and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site. Use of templates is at your own risk and responsibility.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify CYFM from claims arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your use of templates in a way that violates your organization’s policies or legal obligations.

Third-party links and disclosures

The Site may reference or link to third-party resources. We don’t control those sites, and their terms and privacy practices apply when you leave CYFM. External links are offered for convenience, not endorsement.

If CYFM uses affiliate links or paid recommendations in the future (or on certain pages), we will disclose that in plain language on the Affiliate Disclosure page and near the relevant content when practical.

Changes, termination, and general terms

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the effective date at the top of the page. If you keep using the Site after changes, that means you accept the updated Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site if we reasonably believe you are violating these Terms or misusing the Site in ways that risk harm to others or the Site’s operation.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to CYFM’s operation in the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in effect.
